Colorado Autumn Foliage Photos
(Twin Lakes, Colorado Area - September 26, 2008)
Colorado is at the peak of its autumn foliage viewing
season right now! Today my friend Kelley and I drove along Highway 82 from Twin Lakes
Village to Independence Pass. I will let the photos speak for themselves!
Adjacent are four photos of the autumn colors at the Mt. Elbert Lodge.
This particular spot had an unusual amount of orange and even red leaves among the foliage.
Very pretty!

Down the road a few miles (bottom photo), I posed among similar trees.
We parked at the La Plata Peak Trailhead (approximately halfway between Twin Lakes and Independence Pass). It is just a beautiful mountain wonderland out there, and the two photos above show the mountain teeming with yellow aspens. (Special thanks to Kelley for standing in the right photo to help with perspective.)
Farther up the road, La Plata Peak's summit stands tall and proud from the highway. You are
welcome to view my photos from my hike of this mountain early in the summer here:
